Senior Residential HVAC Service Tech

About you:
A Senior Service Technician who is goal oriented, reliable, and self motivated. You want a long term position where you can grow and challenge yourself.
You thrive on being a team player and are highly skilled at diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing all aspects of residential heating and cooling systems. These diagnostic skills apply to the entire HVAC system and not simply the primary component.
You possess strong listening and communication skills and are able to listen to what homeowners have to say and then respond to them in clear non-technical language that answers their questions and presents solutions to their problems.
You enjoy keeping current on the changes that are constantly happening in the industry. Things like: new equipment, equipment modifications, new service techniques, service bulletins, new tools and other important industry changes and like to share new information with associates. You are willing to occasionally teach new information to junior technicians.

Our typical Residential Service work includes maintenance and diagnostics on the following types of equipment:
· Gas and LP furnaces (Natural and Direct vent)
· Evaporator coils
· Air handlers
· Condensing units
· Heat pumps
· Ductless Air Conditioning and Heat Pumps
· Refrigeration lines
· Humidifiers
· Dehumidifiers
· Condensate pumps
· High capacity air filters
· Ultra violet lights
· Sheet metal air duct systems
· Gas and LP water boilers (Natural and Direct vent)
· Gas and LP steam boilers (Natural and Direct vent)
· Zone valves
· Gas, LP and electric Water heaters
· Gas lines
Job Overview:
The Job requirements for the position of Senior Service Technician are:
· Leadership qualities
· A team player type of personality
· Solid communication skills (English speaking)
· Good listening ability
· Advanced high school math skills
· Graduated from an accredited HVAC technical institute
· Possess Type II or Universal Refrigeration Certification.
· Minimum of three (3) years field experience as a service technician
· Ace certification is a big plus, but is not required.
· The ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems with gas and LP natural draft and direct vent furnaces, water boilers, steam boilers, water heaters, electric heat pumps and central air conditioning systems quickly, efficiently and correctly
· Perform maintenance on gas and LP natural draft and direct vent furnaces, water boilers, steam boilers, water heaters, electric heat pumps and central air conditioning systems quickly, efficiently and correctly
· The ability to read, understand and sort through schematic diagrams quickly and logically
· Be able to properly use a volt-ohmmeter to diagnose a problem
· Be able to use a magnahelic to properly adjust natural and LP gas pressures on furnaces, boilers and water heaters
· Be able to properly use a carbon monoxide analyzer to determine a problem
· The ability to use a ductulator to measure the results against an existing system size to insure proper design
· The ability to measure and design a complete residential air duct system to size
· The ability to plumb a water and or steam boiler properly
· Communicate to homeowners the advantages of new and upgraded products
· Participate in the emergency weekend night service rotation
· Possess all of the company required hand tools
· The willingness to teach others and give direction
· The desire to set goals, measure your performance and reach your goals
· The desire to attend training classes to advance your knowledge, skill and income
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $60.00 per hour
