Job Overview

A premier manufacturer of precast concrete products is seeking an experienced Precast Concrete Finisher to join its team in Wallingford, CT. This role is responsible for smoothing, leveling, and finishing precast concrete products to ensure a high-quality surface. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and skilled in a variety of concrete finishing tools and techniques.

Key Responsibilities

Smooth, level, and finish precast concrete surfaces using a variety of hand and power tools.
Apply curing compounds and sealers to ensure durability and longevity of finished surfaces.
Patch, repair, and refinish surface imperfections, cracks, or defects.
Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards prior to shipment or installation.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to understand job specifications.
Inspect molds and forms for defects and ensure proper setup before pouring concrete.
Perform finishing tasks including edging, jointing, floating, and troweling.
Monitor the curing process and make necessary adjustments to achieve the desired finish.
Collaborate with team members to maintain workflow efficiency and meet production deadlines.
Adhere to safety policies and maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Concrete Finisher, preferably in a precast concrete environment.
Strong knowledge of concrete finishing techniques, including floating, troweling, and edging.
Experience using hand and power tools such as trowels, floats, grinders, and screeds.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job orders.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing for long periods, lifting heavy materials, and working in varying weather conditions.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and ability to maintain a safe work environment.
