We seek a committed, faith-filled, academically qualified leader who is able to embody and advance the mission of the school as an apostolic work of the Society of Jesus and serve as an MEP Technician. This is a temporary, full-time, hourly, institutional staff position. This position reports to the Facilities Manager.
ROLE OF THE MEP TECHNICIAN
The MEP Technician is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in the building. The role ensures that these systems are functioning efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulatory standards. The MEP Technician will work both independently and as part of a team to ensure timely resolution of system issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Installation and Maintenance:

Install, maintain, and repair mechanical systems such as HVAC, boilers, and other related equipment.

Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, panels, and electrical fixtures.

Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, including piping, drainage, and sanitary fixtures.

Troubleshooting:
-
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to MEP systems.

Perform repairs and replacements for faulty equipment and components.

Collaborate with other technicians and contractors to resolve complex system issues.

Compliance and Safety:
-
Ensure all MEP installations and repairs comply with safety regulations, codes, and standards (e.g., OSHA, NEC, local codes).

Follow and enforce safety protocols, using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Conduct regular inspections of MEP systems to identify potential risks or required improvements.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of all installations, inspections, maintenance, and repairs performed.

Provide regular status updates and reports to Facilities Manager.

Keep logs of parts, tools, and materials used for projects.

Teamwork and Collaboration:

Work closely with members of the internal maintenance staff as well as outside technicians to complete assigned tasks.

Assist in project planning, estimating timelines, and resource needs for MEP projects.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Technical Skills:
-
Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Familiarity with MEP-related tools, meters, and diagnostic equipment.

Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints, schematics, and manuals.

Experience:
-
5 years of experience as an MEP technician or in a similar role.

Experience in commercial, industrial, or residential building environments is preferred.

Certifications and Licenses:

Relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC certification, Electrical Technician certification) are an advantage.

Valid driver's license may be required.

Problem-Solving:

Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to perform repairs efficiently.

Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials as required.

Ability to work in confined spaces, heights, and varying environmental conditions.
EDUCATION:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.
-
Technical certification or associate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing systems is preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Scheduled hours of 10am - 6:30 pm. May require working outside of normal scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on the project needs.
SALARY:
-
Competitive, based on experience and qualifications. Salary Range: $ 20 - $22/hour
