Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Body Shop Technician Apprentice to join our dynamic team. This paid apprenticeship offers hands-on experience in auto body repair, fabrication, welding, and vehicle maintenance. As an apprentice, you will develop essential skills under the guidance of experienced technicians, preparing you for a successful career in automotive collision repair and restoration.
Responsibilities
- Assist in performing auto body repairs, including dent removal, panel replacement, and refinishing.
- Support welding tasks such as MIG welding, soldering, and sheet metal fabrication.
- Use hand tools and power tools to disassemble and reassemble vehicle components with precision.
- Aid in auto painting processes, including sanding, masking, and airless paint spraying.
- Help with auto glass replacement and detailing to ensure vehicles meet quality standards.
- Learn to interpret auto estimating reports and assist in vehicle inspection procedures.
- Participate in heavy lifting tasks safely while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements
- Dealership experience, collision center experience or automotive repair background is a plus but not required; eagerness to learn is essential.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and familiarity with hand tools and power tools.
- Willingness to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks regularly.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude toward teamwork.
- Prior experience or interest in auto body repair, auto restoration, or auto painting is advantageous.
