Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Service Electrician to join our team and deliver exceptional electrical solutions across various commercial and industrial settings. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, from maintenance and repairs to new installations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with electrical standards. Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems in commercial and industrial environments, ensuring adherence to safety standards and electrical codes such as the NEC (National Electrical Code).
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately execute electrical projects.
- Use hand tools, power tools, multimeters such as ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment to identify issues and perform repairs efficiently.
- Work with low voltage systems including control wiring for programmable logic controllers (PLCs), security systems, and communication networks.
- Conduct renovation projects on existing electrical infrastructure, upgrading or replacing outdated components while minimizing downtime.
- Collaborate with construction teams during new builds or remodels, providing electrical expertise for framing carpentry, schematics interpretation, and overall project coordination.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including inspection reports, test results, and compliance records.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry best practices while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an industrial or commercial electrician with strong electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams accurately.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment essential for electrical work.
- Knowledge of low voltage systems including control wiring for PLCs; experience with high voltage systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with the NEC (National Electrical Code) standards for safe electrical installation practices.
- Construction site experience with the ability to adapt quickly to changing environments and project demands.
- Strong understanding of schematics reading, blueprint interpretation, and renovation procedures.
- Handyman experience or skills in frame carpentry are advantageous for multi-disciplinary tasks on-site.
- Ability to work safely at heights or in confined spaces when required.
