Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Level Residential Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in residential settings, ensuring safety and compliance with all relevant codes and standards. Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in residential properties, including wiring, outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, and panels.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute electrical layouts.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to complete electrical installations and repairs.
- Conduct inspections of electrical systems to ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local regulations.
- Test electrical circuits using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters to diagnose issues accurately.
- Collaborate with construction teams, framers, carpenters, and other trades to coordinate installation efforts during renovation or new build projects.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and safety inspections for each project.
Requirements
- Valid journeyman electrician license or equivalent certification demonstrating completion of comprehensive electrical training.
- Proven experience working as an electrician in residential construction or renovation environments.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, including the NEC (National Electrical Code).
- Familiarity with schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings for accurate installations.
- Ability to operate hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers; power tools including drills and saws; as well as specialized testing equipment like ohmmeters.
- Construction site experience with the ability to adapt quickly to changing project requirements.
- Knowledge of high voltage systems and safety protocols for working with both low and high voltage electrical components.
- Handyman skills including frame carpentry and basic renovation techniques are advantageous.
