Premier services all aspects of life safety and we have an opening for a Fire Alarm Technician to join our team.
The Fire Alarm Technician is responsible for performing scheduled service, testing, and documentation of fire alarm systems in accordance with applicable NFPA standards, local codes, and company procedures. This role requires knowledge of fire alarm systems and multiple manufacturers’ products, along with strong attention to detail, clear written and verbal communication, and a customer-focused approach. The ideal candidate provides accurate reports, compliance documentation, and provides high customers experience and internal teams’ collaboration.
What You Will Do

Perform scheduled service, testing, and routine maintenance of fire alarm and other life safety systems in accordance with applicable NFPA standards, local codes, and company procedures

Service fire alarm panels, initiating devices, notification appliances, low-voltage wiring, and related equipment to verify proper operation and code compliance

Identify system deficiencies, performance issues, and repair needs discovered during service and testing

Communication with customers in a professional and easy-to-understand manner

Communicate proactively with project, scheduling, and internal support teams regarding job status, delays, site conditions, access issues, and customer needs

Coordinate with office and field teams to support timely documentation, project closeout, and successful turnover to the customer

Use scheduling platforms, mobile technology, and company systems to document work performed and complete required timesheets, safety forms, and other paperwork

Support accurate billing by ensuring service is completed, documented, and closed out properly

Maintain positive customer relationships by delivering professional, responsive, and safety-focused service in the field
Basic Requirements

Working knowledge of fire alarm systems, life safety systems, and applicable NFPA codes and standards

Familiarity with fire alarm control panels, initiating devices, notification appliances, and other critical system components

Ability and willingness to perform service, testing, and preventive maintenance activities in the field

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document findings and communicate with customers, managers, and authorities having jurisdictions (AHJs)

Ability to complete required reports and documentation accurately and on time

Proficiency with personal computers, Microsoft Office, and electronic inspection/reporting systems, with or without reasonable accommodation

Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed

Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and reference check
Preferred Qualifications

NICET Level II or III certification in Fire Alarm Systems preferred

Prior experience inspecting, testing, and servicing fire alarm systems across multiple manufacturers

Experience working directly with customers, AHJs, and internal project teams in a service or inspection environment

Familiarity with code-compliant reporting, deficiency identification, and service follow-up processes
Benefits and Compensation:
This role will be based out of our Paducah, KY office. The pay range is $25-35.00depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
