Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Low Voltage Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage systems across various commercial and industrial sites. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of critical communication, security, and data infrastructure. Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot low voltage systems including CCTV, access control, fiber optic cabling, VoIP telephony, Ethernet networks, and data centers.
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately complete installations and repairs.
- Perform fiber splicing and cable management for high-speed data transmission systems.
- Conduct field service visits to diagnose issues, perform equipment repairs, and ensure system functionality meets client specifications.
- Install network equipment such as Cisco routers, Juniper devices, and Avaya telephony systems while adhering to NEC electrical codes.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely to complete cabling runs with Cat5, Cat6, and other low voltage cables.
- Document all work performed through detailed reports and logs; communicate effectively with clients to provide exceptional customer service.
Skills
- Commercial construction experience
- Structured cabling experience (pulling & terminating cables, installing j-hooks & sleeves, installing racks and cable tray in telecom rooms)
- Access control experience (pulling & terminating cables, installing & wiring panels, installing card readers & cameras)
- Audio Visual experience (pulling & terminating cables, installing displays, projectors, speakers, & touch panels)
- DAS experience (pulling & terminating cables, installing antennas & splitter/tappers, installing head end equipment)
- Data Center experience (installing cable tray systems, installing racks, pulling fiber and cat cable)
- Fiber Optic experience (installing and terminating fiber in a commercial setting using a fusion splicer, fiber to the home does not qualify)
Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
