Overview

Duties
- Assist in preparing accurate construction estimates for HVAC and mechanical projects by analyzing plans, specifications, and project requirements.
- Utilize estimating software to develop detailed cost proposals, ensuring competitive pricing aligned with project scope.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather pricing information and negotiate favorable terms while maintaining cost control.
- Review blueprints and technical documents to identify material quantities, scope of work, and potential challenges.
- Support the review of contracts and scope of work documents to ensure clarity and alignment with project goals.
- Contribute to bid packages by compiling all necessary documentation, including pricing sheets, schedules, and supporting calculations.
- Participate in construction site visits to gain firsthand understanding of site conditions that impact estimates and project planning.
- Assist in tracking project costs throughout the bidding process to support effective cost management and project profitability.
Skills
- Strong negotiation skills to communicate effectively with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
- Experience with construction estimating software is desirable.
- Solid understanding of construction estimating principles specific to HVAC/mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of construction site operations, safety standards, and project management practices.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contracts accurately.
- Familiarity with cost control techniques, pricing strategies, and budget tracking within construction projects.
