Title: Refrigeration and HVAC Technician Assistant – Low Temperature
Location: Puerto Rico (Reporting initially to San Juan, with a planned relocation to Dorado in the future).

POSITION DESCRIPTION
As a Refrigeration & HVAC Technician Assistant, you will work closely alongside our certified Lead Technicians to support the precision installation, preventative maintenance, technical diagnostics, and critical repair of industrial refrigeration and environmental infrastructure. This role features a heavy focus on highly specialized low-temperature and ultra-low temperature systems within highly regulated, mission-critical commercial and pharmaceutical facilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Technician Support: Actively assist Lead Technicians in executing complex, compliant field procedures, including:
- Safely installing, decommissioning, and removing refrigeration and industrial A/C machinery.
- Executing rigorous, pre-scheduled preventive maintenance routines to minimize client downtime.
- Assisting in diagnosing mechanical faults and troubleshooting complex electrical control circuits.
- Conducting meticulous system pressure testing, leak detection, isolation, and refrigerant recovery.
- Repairing or replacing critical hardware such as industrial compressors, fan motors, thermostats, filter dryers, and expansion valves.
- Participating in basic electrical wiring hookups and precise copper brazing/welding tasks.
- Documentation & Reporting: Assist in compiling accurate, weekly field service logs, asset tracking documentation, and operational data sheets required for regulatory compliance.
- Safety & Resource Management: Maintain immaculate organization, cleanliness, and safety standards across client job sites, technical tools, and company-assigned service vehicles.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A strong professional drive and an active interest in setting up a long-term, lucrative career path within the highly specialized industrial HVAC/R and life sciences compliance sector.
- On-Call Availability: Willingness to be on call 24/7 for emergency service rotation (approximately one week per month).
- Schedule Flexibility: Availability to work overtime hours, including when urgent project deadlines or critical client emergencies occur.
- Attributes: Exceptionally reliable, intensely detail-oriented, and strongly committed to workplace safety protocols.
EDUCATION
- Technical Diploma or an accredited vocational certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology.
