Job Summary
Master Services, LLC is looking for a skilled and reliable HVAC Installer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, replacing, and testing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in residential and/or commercial properties. You will work with a variety of equipment, including central AC units, furnaces, heat pumps, and ductwork, ensuring all installations are completed safely, efficiently, and up to local building codes.
Key Responsibilities
- System Installation: Install new heating, cooling, and ventilation systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, mini-splits, and air handlers.
- Ductwork & Piping: Lay out, assemble, and install metal and flexible ductwork, refrigerant lines, copper piping, and PVC drainage lines.
- Electrical Connections: Connect HVAC equipment to power sources, wire low-voltage thermostats, and install control systems according to electrical schematics.
- Testing & Commissioning: Test newly installed systems for leaks (using pressure testing and vacuum pumps), verify airflow, and calibrate controls to ensure optimal performance.
- Code Compliance: Ensure all installations meet local building codes, safety regulations, and manufacturer specifications.
- Customer Service: Maintain a clean work area, protect customer property, and clearly explain new system operation and maintenance to clients before leaving the job site.
- Documentation: Complete accurate digital or paperwork logs for installations, materials used, and commissioning data.
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience & Education
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience: 3 or more years of experience in HVAC installation (residential or commercial preferred).
- Completion of an HVAC trade school program or apprenticeship is highly desirable.
- Subject to a Background Check
Certifications & Licenses
- EPA Section 608 Certification: Required (Type II or Universal preferred for handling refrigerants).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (to operate company installation vehicles).
- NATE (North American Technician Excellence) certification is a strong plus.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles, basic electricity, and airflow dynamics.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams.
- Proficiency with industry tools (e.g., recovery machines, vacuum pumps, manifold gauges, torches, and sheet metal tools).
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50–75 lbs regularly (loading/unloading heavy equipment like compressors and furnaces).
- Comfortable working in cramped or awkward spaces, including attics, crawlspaces, basements, and on rooftops.
- Ability to climb ladders, stand for long periods, and work in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
