Technician - HVAC/R Refrigeration
Altec AIR is seeking a skilled Refrigeration Technician to join our team in Broomfield, Colorado. This position plays a critical role in supporting the assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of refrigeration and HVAC/R systems used in specialized mobile equipment. Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and service refrigeration and HVACR systems.
- Perform brazing, refrigeration piping, and basic electrical wiring.
- Operate refrigeration service equipment and diagnostic tools, including vacuum pumps, leak detectors, gauges, and electrical meters.
- Test and inspect systems to ensure quality, performance, and compliance with specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical instructions to assemble and modify components.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems while supporting production and engineering teams.
- Follow all safety, quality, and environmental standards while maintaining a clean and productive work environment.
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Enrolled in or completed a trade school or technical training program in HVACR or a minimum of one year of HVACR experience.
- Working knowledge of refrigeration systems, HVACR equipment, and electrical systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot refrigeration systems ranging from approximately 1/6 ton to 15 tons.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
Preferred
- EPA 608 Universal Refrigerant Certification.
- Manufacturing or production environment experience.
- Experience working with pneumatic and electrical assemblies.
- Experience using the following: Vacuum pumps, leak detectors, electronic gauge/manifold sets, electrical testing equipment, and hand and power tools
Compensation and Schedule
Pay range: $25.88–$27.32 per hour
Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.; voluntary overtime may be available as needed.
The job level may be adjusted at the time of hire when a candidate meets the qualifications for a more experienced level within the career path.
