At Vectra Mechanical, we are not looking for someone who just knows how to put pipe together. We are looking for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, solves problems in the field, and can be trusted to execute work at a high level without someone constantly looking over their shoulder.
We are growing and looking for experienced Commercial HVAC Pipefitters to join our team. This role is focused on commercial service, tenant improvements, retrofits, hydronic systems, boiler piping, mechanical room work, and complex HVAC piping systems. While we occasionally perform new construction work, the majority of our projects involve problem solving, system upgrades, occupied buildings, and technically challenging mechanical work.
If you can read prints, lay out jobs, lead others, and consistently perform quality work, we want to talk.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Install, modify, repair, and retrofit commercial HVAC piping systems
- Perform hydronic piping, boiler piping, chilled water piping, heating water piping, and mechanical room installations
- Install and work on refrigeration piping, VRF / VRV systems, and specialty HVAC systems
- Work with copper, black iron, carbon steel, stainless, grooved systems, threaded systems, welded pipe, ProPress, MegaPress, PVC, and condensate systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and specifications
- Independently lay out jobs and coordinate field execution
- Lead apprentices and field crews when required
- Coordinate with Project Managers and field leadership to ensure successful project execution
- Assist with equipment setting, startup support, and mechanical system installations
- Maintain a high level of workmanship, safety, organization, and professionalism on jobsites
- Identify problems early and proactively help drive solutions
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 4 years of commercial HVAC pipefitting experience
- Strong experience in commercial HVAC systems and mechanical piping
- Ability to read and understand mechanical blueprints and drawings independently
- Ability to lay out and execute work with minimal supervision
- Experience in tenant improvements, service work, retrofits, hydronics, boiler piping, and mechanical room work
- Comfortable leading crews and mentoring less experienced team members
- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving mindset
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
- Valid driver’s license
Who Succeeds Here
The people who succeed at Vectra are self motivated, take ownership of their work, and care about doing things the right way. We are looking for professionals who show up prepared, communicate well, solve problems, and take pride in quality craftsmanship.
If you are looking for a place where your experience matters and your work speaks for itself, we would like to talk.
