Welder / Pipefitter – FCAW & GTAW

We are seeking a skilled Welder/Pipefitter with hands-on experience in flux core arc welding (FCAW) and TIG welding (GTAW) to join our shop team in Broussard, LA for a temporary project engagement of 2 to 4 months. This is an immediate-start opportunity for a motivated tradesperson who takes pride in quality work and can hit the ground running.
Responsibilities
Perform FCAW and GTAW welding on carbon steel, stainless, and/or alloy pipe and structural components per shop drawings and weld procedures (WPS)
Fit, assemble, and tack pipe spools, flanges, and fittings to isometric and orthographic drawings
Read and interpret blueprints, isometrics, and pipe spool sheets
Maintain proper fit-up, joint prep, and dimensional tolerances throughout fabrication
Follow all shop safety protocols, PPE requirements, and quality control procedures
Coordinate with shop foreman and inspection personnel to meet project schedule and weld quality requirements
Requirements
Proven experience with FCAW (flux core arc welding) — structural and pipe
Proven experience with GTAW/TIG welding — pipe preferred; stainless and/or chrome-moly a plus
Pipefitting skills: layout, fit-up, spool fabrication from isometrics
Ability to pass a weld test (6G or position-specific per project requirements)
NCCER certification preferred; AWS D1.1 or B31.3 qualification a plus
Minimum 3 years of combined welding/pipefitting experience in an industrial or fabrication shop environment
Must provide own hand tools; shop equipment and consumables provided
