We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Project Manager / Estimator to support landscape installation operations. The responsibilities as Project Manager include working with the Sr. Site Superintendent to help manage projects from pre-construction through completion (administrative duties only), coordinating with subcontractors, ordering materials, and helping develop schedules. The responsibilities as Estimator include monitoring commercial bid sites, following up with an already established list of general contractors, plan take-offs, developing accurate estimates, creating – submitting – following up on bid proposals. The ideal candidate combines strong estimating and project management skills with practical knowledge of landscape construction, horticulture, irrigation, and maintenance services.
Project Manager Key Responsibilities
· Collaborate with operations, account managers, and field supervisors to transition awarded work smoothly from estimate to execution.
· Build accurate project submittal documents, schedule of values, and purchase orders.
· Coordinate project schedules, materials procurement, subcontractors, and internal field crews to ensure efficient project execution.
· Perform site visits with the Sr. Site Superintendent to evaluate project conditions and identify scope requirements for installation work.
· Ensure all work is performed complies with applicable regulations and contract requirements.
· Manage multiple jobs simultaneously while maintaining budget and schedule expectations.
· Monitor job costs, track change orders, and help maintain project profitability.
· Conduct pre-job planning and post-job reviews to improve estimating accuracy and operational performance.
· Maintain organized records of estimates, proposals, contracts, schedules, and project documentation.
· Work with the Business Manager to ensure timely progress and final invoice.
· Serve as a point of contact with clients, providing updates, answering questions, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
Estimator Key Responsibilities
· Monitor commercial bid portals and site for future projects.
· Follow-up and build relationships with an already established list of general contractors.
· Review plans, specifications, and client requirements to determine labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor needs.
· Prepare accurate takeoffs, estimates, bid proposals, and budgets for landscape enhancement work, irrigation, planting, hardscape, and installation projects.
Qualifications
· Experience in landscape construction, landscape maintenance, estimating, project management, or a related field.
· An understanding of plant material, irrigation systems, grading, drainage, and hardscape installation is a plus.
· Ability to read plans, specifications, and construction documents.
· Proficiency in estimating, scheduling, and job cost tracking.
· Strong communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to manage client relationships and coordinate effectively with field personnel, vendors, and subcontractors.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating/project management software preferred.
· Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
· Landscape management, construction management, or a related field preferred, but equivalent experience may be considered.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
This position involves a combination of office and field work and may require walking job sites, working outdoors in varying weather conditions, and occasionally lifting plans, samples, or materials. The candidate must be comfortable visiting active job sites and interacting with crews, clients, and vendors.
