We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Low Voltage Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage systems across various commercial and industrial sites. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of critical communication, security, and data systems, contributing to the safety and efficiency of our clients’ environments. Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot low voltage systems including CCTV, fiber optic cabling, Ethernet networks, VoIP telephony, and access control systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately execute installations and repairs.
- Perform fiber splicing and cabling tasks using power tools and hand tools to ensure high-quality connections.
- Conduct network installation activities involving Cisco routers, Juniper equipment, LAN setups, and computer networking components.
- Diagnose electrical issues using tools such as ohmmeters and troubleshoot telecommunication systems in compliance with NEC standards.
- Provide field service support by responding promptly to service calls, performing equipment repairs, and ensuring system functionality.
- Collaborate with clients to deliver exceptional customer service while explaining system operations and maintenance procedures.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of CCTV systems, fiber splicing techniques, Ethernet cabling (Cat5/Cat6), and network infrastructure.
- Experience working with Cisco routers, Juniper devices, Avaya telephony systems, and VoIP solutions.
- Proficiency in reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals related to low voltage systems.
- Hands-on experience with telecommunication wiring, cabling (including Cat5/Cat6), and electrical installation standards such as NEC.
- Skilled in using power tools, hand tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment for system installation and repair.
- Camera installations, keyless entry installs
- Wire running and wire management
