Job Summary
WFQ is seeking a Die Setter with a great attitude and strong work ethic for one of our customers in Howell, MI.
Setting dies and various-sized automation tooling, forklift and crane operating (internally licensed), load/unload coils & sheet metal. Operation of the press line, racking of the parts produced, quality control, housekeeping, participation in TPM activities, forklift driving, and metal rework of the parts. Accomplish any work assignments as directed by Management
Responsibility for the Die Setter:
- Complete inside/outside die changeovers using a crane
- Set presses with dies and automation tooling
- Load stamping dies onto press bolsters
- Assist in building automation tooling
- Offload coils from semi-trucks with a coil grabber
- Load aluminum/steel coils onto press lines
- Maintain proper paperwork, e.g., CRRF, check-sheets, scrap room records, coil tracking, etc.
- Crane/Fork Truck inspection (licenses required)
- Maintain the die storage areas and be responsible for cleaning the scrap basement
- Maintain housekeeping requirements to ensure a safe work environment
- Participate in improvement activities using 5-S / TPM processes
- Required to assist on production lines when needed
Minimum Requirements for the Die Setter:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- One year of manufacturing experience.
- One year of press operation experience preferred.
- General knowledge of quality systems.
- Able to identify sheet metal/aluminum defects.
- Basic knowledge of using an ERP system.
Health, Safety, and Physical Demand Requirements:
- Frequent lifting of up to 50 lb
- Occasional lifting, climbing, carrying, pulling, gripping, grasping, twisting, bending, stooping, and reaching throughout the work day
- Hand and eye coordination
- Ability to climb/step up and down bolsters several times daily
- Ability to tolerate standing for 8 hours or more
