Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior HVAC/R Service Technician located in Summerville, SC. The Senior Technician will be responsible for independently diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and installing commercial and light industrial HVAC and refrigeration equipment. This position requires strong technical expertise and a customer-focused approach.
The Senior Technician will oversee service calls from start to finish, repair recommendations to customers, and ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company standards and industry regulations.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections and identify potential equipment issues.
- Install, replace, and commission HVAC and refrigeration equipment and components.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and control system issues.
- Perform minor plumbing and piping repairs related to HVAC/R systems.
- Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and documentation.
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate findings, recommendations, and repair options clearly.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Participate in on-call rotations and emergency service calls as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of commercial HVAC/R service experience.
- Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles, electrical controls, HVAC systems, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Experience servicing walk-in coolers/freezers, ice machines, rooftop units, split systems, exhaust systems, and refrigeration equipment.
- Ability to independently diagnose and repair complex HVAC/R and refrigeration issues.
- EPA Universal Certification required.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in various indoor and outdoor environments.
- HVAC/R technical degree or industry certifications preferred.
- Experience with digital service software, tablets, and mobile work order systems preferred.
