We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician with a strong background in HVAC, refrigeration, and commercial kitchen equipment repair to join our team at Taste of History LLC, at various food service locations on the National Mall. This hands-on position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of building systems and food service equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional with excellent diagnostic skills, experience working on cooking and refrigeration equipment, and a commitment to providing high-quality maintenance and customer service in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform hands on facility maintenance and alteration work including, but not limited to: HVAC installation, repairs and maintenance, repairing control systems, heating and/or air conditioning repairs, and kitchen equiptment.
- Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on heating, ventilating and cooling systems and kitchen equiptment
- Assists in identifying necessary tools and materials for jobs
- Interprets oral and written instructions specifications, diagrams, codes and manufacturer's literature
- Inspects equipment and machinery to determine proper functioning
- Assist in moving and installing equipment in new locations that may require the installation of service lines
- Provides for a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules
Position Requirements:
- Demonstrate skill in the use of tools, materials and equipment common to the HVAC trade
- Understand and effectively follow oral and written instructions
- Must be able to work on ladders, scaffolding, elevated platforms or catwalks, crawl spaces, tunnels, ledges and roofs
- Must be able to work a variety of day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts
- Ability to lift 75 lbs. with frequent lifting and/or carrying items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Education and Experience:
- Education: High school Diploma or equivalent required
- College degree or Technical/trade school diploma or equivalent educational training preferred
- Experience: Five (5) or more years in HVAC construction and/or maintenance field required
