Duties

Lead the installation, troubleshooting and commissioning of fire alarm systems, ensuring adherence to schematics, blueprints, and NEC (National Electrical Code) standards
Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) drawings to accurately execute system designs
Oversee construction inspections to verify proper installation of fire alarm components including sensors, low voltage wiring, and control panels
Coordinate with project managers and clients to ensure timely completion of system design modifications and updates
Conduct field service visits for troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance on fire alarm systems
Supervise and mentor technicians on proper use of hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment for system installation and maintenance
Ensure all work complies with safety regulations such as NEC standards and local codes while maintaining high quality standards

Skills

Strong technical ability to install and fully program the leading fire alarm system brands, including Potter, EST, Silent Knight and/or the other leading brands such as Bosch or Gamewell.
Background knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, system design principles, and CAD software for fire alarm systems
Mechanical aptitude combined with electrical experience related to low voltage wiring and sensor integration
Proven construction inspection skills with an understanding of fire sprinkler fitting and overall building systems integration
Expertise in field service operations including troubleshooting alarms, sensor calibration, and system testing
Familiarity with fire alarm sales processes and customer service techniques for both system sales and ongoing maintenance contracts
Ability to interpret electrical schematics, schematics for sensors, alarms, power supplies, and control panels
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, power drills, multimeters, testers for electrical systems; experience working with construction teams is a plus
Experience in other low voltage fields, such as Access Control, CCTV, Multi- Room Control A/V, ERCES, etc. is a Plus!
