New Construction Crew Lead is responsible for the skilled installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of HVAC systems on residential and commercial construction projects. This role requires extensive technical expertise, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to mentor apprentices and support the installation team to ensure quality workmanship and timely project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install HVAC systems including furnaces, heat pumps, AC units, ductwork, and controls (Must be able to run their own projects.
- Procuring materials, keeping job schedules and crews lined out.)
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Ensure work complies with local codes, safety standards, and company procedures
- Communicate effectively with General Contractors
- Complete job-related documentation and reports accurately
- Work both independently and collaboratively with other team members and apprentices
- Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment in safe working condition
Qualifications:
- Three or more years of experience in HVAC installation
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and local codes
- EPA 608 Certification (Type II or Universal)
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in tight spaces, and tolerate seasonal weather conditions
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Preferred but not required:
- Valid Journeyman HVAC license (State of Wyoming or ability to obtain reciprocity)
