EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Identifies isolation valves; installs, maintains, and repairs plumbing fixtures such as sinks, commodes, water heaters, hot water tanks, and fire systems.
Assembles and installs valves, pipefittings and pipes composed of metals, such as iron, steel, brass, and lead, and nonmetal such as glass, vitrified clay, and plastic.
Studies building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations.
Locates and marks position of pipe and pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in walls, floors, and on the property.
Cuts, bends, assembles and installs various pipes, fittings, and fixtures for fire and domestic water, sanitary, drainage, heating, gas and other plumbing systems which involve the performance of hand, bench, and maintenance plumbing tasks.
Threads, reams, assembles, caulks, solders and welds various pipes and component parts.
Repairs and installs new water and drainage lines and waste and sewage pipes.
