Overhead Crane Operator – Night Shift (6 AM – 4 PM to 6 PM)
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Overhead Crane Operator to join our industrial production team. This role involves operating a cab-controlled overhead crane to safely move steel plates, pipes, and structural materials throughout the facility. You will work closely with production, welding, and yard teams to support daily operations and ensure materials are delivered efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities:
- Operate cab-controlled overhead cranes to move steel materials safely and efficiently
- Lift, position, and transport loads such as plates, pipe, and structural steel
- Follow all rigging signals, hand signals, and radio communication from ground personnel
- Inspect crane equipment and rigging before each use
- Maintain precise control to prevent load swing, damage, or safety hazards
- Stage materials for welding, fitting, and production processes
- Identify and report any equipment issues or unsafe conditions immediately
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Requirements:
- Proven experience operating cab-controlled overhead cranes in an industrial environment
- Strong understanding of load control, balance, and safe lifting practices
- Ability to read and respond to hand signals and radio communication
- close attention to detail and situational awareness
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Strong commitment to safety and following procedures
- Dependable and able to work 12-hour night shifts (6 PM – 6 AM)
Preferred Experience:
- Experience handling steel plate, pipe, or structural materials
- Familiarity with rigging equipment (chains, slings, hooks, etc.)
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
