As we continue expanding across the Mid-Atlantic region, we're looking for skilled and dependable Concrete Finishers to join our field teams and help deliver high-quality civil construction projects.
Job Summary
The Concrete Finisher supports all phases of concrete placement, finishing, and curing for sidewalks, curbs, gutters, slabs, ADA ramps, and other civil work. This role works under the direction of the Foreman/Superintendent and performs hands‑on field work in a fast‑paced construction environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Place, spread, level, and finish concrete using hand and power tools.
- Perform broom, rake, groove, edging, and smooth finishes.
- Assist with screeding and use a come‑along to move and distribute concrete.
- Set and check forms, grades, and elevations; remove forms after placement.
- Apply curing compounds, perform saw cutting and jointing, and correct surface imperfections.
- Operate and maintain finishing tools and small equipment, including skid steer or mini excavator (as needed).
- Coordinate with concrete truck drivers during pours.
- Perform general labor tasks and maintain clean, safe work areas.
- Follow all safety requirements, PPE use, and participate in daily JHAs.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of concrete finishing techniques, curing, additives, and weather impacts.
- Familiarity with ADA slopes and tolerances.
- Ability to read basic construction drawings (preferred).
- ACI or CORT certifications preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Reliable transportation and ability to work overtime/weekends as needed.
PhysicalDemands
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding outdoor work.
- Must pass a respirator fit test.
- Must be able to wear a silica‑rated respirator/mask when required.
- Ability to work in varied weather and active construction environments.
