Overview
We are seeking a skilled Crane Operator and CDL Class A Driver to join our transformer assembly crews. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating cranes and telehandlers, along with a valid CDL Class A license. This role involves working on construction sites, transporting equipment, and working with crew onsite to ensure project efficiency and safety. Candidates with construction site experience, mechanical knowledge, and familiarity with a range of construction machinery are highly preferred. The position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects requiring precision, safety, and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Driving & Transport: Operate Class A trucks and trailers (flatbeds, lowboys) to haul cranes, materials, and equipment to job sites, following DOT regulations.
Crane Operation: Safely lift, move, and position heavy materials (steel, trusses, roofing supplies) using various crane types (boom, mobile).
Safety & Inspections: Conduct pre-trip/post-trip inspections, check equipment, and ensure adherence to all OSHA/company safety standards.
Rigging: Assemble and use rigging (cables, hooks, chains) to secure loads.
Site Setup: Set up, brace, and prepare hoisting equipment, often in tight or hazardous conditions.
Maintenance: Perform routine checks, minor repairs, and maintain equipment cleanliness.
Documentation: Complete logbooks, inspection reports, and delivery records.
Teamwork: Communicate effectively with site supervisors and crews.

Qualifications & Skills

Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record.
NCCCO certification often required or preferred.
Experience operating mobile cranes and rigging.
Knowledge of construction safety (OSHA).
Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting.
Ability to lift heavy loads (50-100+ lbs) and work outdoors in varied conditions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 70 – 90 per week
