Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated MIG Welder to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing high-quality welding operations on various metal components and structures, primarily utilizing Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding techniques. Your expertise will contribute to the efficient manufacturing and assembly of complex projects, ensuring all work adheres to safety standards, blueprints, and technical specifications. This position offers an energetic environment where precision, mechanical aptitude, and teamwork are essential to success.
Responsibilities
- Execute MIG welding on sheet metal, ductwork, pipes, and fabricated assemblies following detailed blueprints and schematics
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and welding symbols to ensure accurate fabrication
- Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to verify dimensions and quality standards
- Operate plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment to shape materials as required
- Conduct routine inspections of welds using calipers, micrometers, and visual checks to ensure structural integrity
- Assist with rigging, pipe threading, machining, soldering, and assembly tasks as needed for comprehensive fabrication projects
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols related to construction site work and welding operations
Experience
- Proven construction site experience with a strong background in welding environments
- Extensive hands-on experience with MIG welding; familiarity with FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) is a plus
- Knowledge of TIG welding techniques for precision tasks
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment
- Mechanical knowledge related to rigging, pipe threading, machining processes, and assembly procedures
- Familiarity with construction safety standards including ASME codes & standards is preferred
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations involved in fabrication tasks
- Experience working on ductwork or manufacturing projects involving sheet metal or structural steel is highly desirable
