Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary.
· Apply backshell covers over terminated connectors of various cable assemblies including D-sub and circular military connectors.
· Torque circular backshells to customer specifications using torque wrenches and strap wrenches.
· Apply various components including Teflon tape, metal tie bands, and other securing materials to properly secure cables and assemblies.
· Apply sealants, adhesives, glues, epoxies, and injectable molding compounds into and/or around connectors and backshells as required by customer specifications and manufacturing instructions.
· Apply wrap-around and shrink labels to cable assemblies in precise locations according to customer measurement specifications and work instructions.
· Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, spec sheets, and assembly instructions.
· Utilize American standard measurements accurately during assembly and inspection processes.
· Perform work in accordance with workmanship standards, quality procedures, and production requirements.
· Maintain clean and organized workstations and properly care for tools and equipment.
· Assist with quality inspections and ensure assemblies meet customer and company standards.
· Meet productivity expectations while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
· Successfully complete required skills testing, quality/workmanship evaluations, and productivity assessments.
· Ability to train others on your team
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
· Previous cable assembly, manufacturing, or related production experience preferred.
· Ability to use hand tools including torque wrenches, strap wrenches, cutters, and assembly tools.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
· Basic math and measurement skills using American standard measurements.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specification sheets.
Reports To: Team Leader
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret internal order documentation. Proficient in reading, writing and speaking English. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret internal order documentation. Fluency in Spanish or Russian is a plus but not a requirement.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate basic information such as quantities, lengths and amounts
Reasoning Ability: Ability to follow instructions and procedures
Pay: $19.00 per hour
