Position Overview
Staxmatic is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Construction Plumbing Superintendent to lead and coordinate all plumbing and mechanical operations across large-scale commercial job sites. This is a field leadership role ideal for a journeyman or licensed plumber who has progressed into a supervisory capacity. You will be responsible for managing field crews, coordinating daily site activities, driving project schedules, and ensuring all work is completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with applicable codes, quality standards, and safety requirements.
The Plumbing Superintendent is the primary field leader for all plumbing operations on site, working directly with Project Managers, General Contractors, MEP subcontractors, and trade partners to ensure seamless project execution from mobilization through final inspection and closeout. Base Salary: $120,000 annually + Project Completion Bonus

Key Responsibilities
-
Direct, supervise, and mentor plumbing crews including foremen, journeymen, apprentices, and subcontractors across all phases of commercial construction
-
Manage daily crew assignments, productivity tracking, and workforce scheduling to meet project milestones and deadlines
-
Conduct daily toolbox talks, enforce OSHA safety standards, and maintain all required safety documentation per GC and site requirements
-
Monitor job site quality control for rough-in, underground, above-ground, and trim-out plumbing work to ensure compliance with plans, specs, and local codes

Maintain accurate daily field reports, manpower logs, and work progress updates for project management review

Oversee all phases of commercial plumbing scope including underground DWV, domestic cold and hot water, storm drainage, sanitary, and above-ceiling rough-in

Interpret and apply construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications for plumbing, waste, vent, and water supply systems

Collaborate with Project Managers, General Contractors, MEP subcontractors, and trade partners to support project schedules, budgets, and milestones

Review and coordinate RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings with the project team to resolve field conflicts before they impact schedule
-
Identify and proactively resolve field conflicts, facilitate MEP coordination meetings, and promote teamwork across all trades

Coordinate material, tool, prefabrication, and equipment deliveries with vendors, suppliers, and the warehouse team
-
Schedule and support plumbing inspections to ensure compliance with applicable safety, quality, and code requirements

Track and document field changes, support change order preparation, and communicate scope variances to the project team
Qualifications
-
Minimum of 5 years of experience supervising plumbing work on large-scale commercial construction projects
-
Proven experience managing all phases of commercial plumbing including underground, rough-in, above-ground, and trim-out
-
Journeyman Plumber license or higher required

OSHA 10 certification required

Strong knowledge of plumbing codes, DWV systems, domestic water, storm drainage, and sanitary systems

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and plumbing specifications

Valid driver’s license and ability to meet background check requirements

Strong project scheduling, workforce coordination, and deadline management skills
-
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and physically demanding environments
