Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Journeyman to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex electrical systems across various settings, including commercial, residential sites. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work complies with safety standards and local electrical codes, contributing to the safe and efficient operation of electrical infrastructure. Responsibilities
- Install, wire, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in accordance with blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to accurately execute projects.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters to identify faults and determine solutions.
- Perform high-voltage electrical wiring and connections safely following NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) standards and local electrical codes.
- Manage low voltage systems including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), control panels, and automation equipment.
- Follow all electrical safety procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment efficiently while maintaining safety protocols during installation or renovation projects.
- Collaborate with construction teams on site to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems into building infrastructure.
- Read electrical schematics and blueprints accurately to plan work sequences effectively.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, inspections completed, and safety checks conducted throughout each project phase.
Qualifications
- Valid Electrical Journeyman license
- Proven experience as a residential electrician or commercial electrician with a strong understanding of electrical systems in various environments.
- Extensive knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC standards, and local electrical codes applicable to the region.
- Hands-on experience with high-voltage wiring, low voltage systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics reading, and electrical diagnostics.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, multimeters, and other diagnostic equipment essential for troubleshooting.
- Construction site experience including renovation projects and new installations across commercial or industrial facilities.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, control diagrams, and technical drawings accurately.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA standards and prevent hazards on site.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments such as construction or renovation projects.
- Additional skills such as frame carpentry or handyman experience are considered a plus to support diverse project needs.
