Job Description:
The Licensed Electrician is responsible for all aspects of electrical wiring including installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems in residential properties. This role requires an in-depth understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), excellent troubleshooting abilities, and a strong commitment to safety and customer service.
Job Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair residential electrical systems, including lighting fixtures, outlets, switches, wiring, and circuit breakers.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues such as power outages, short circuits, and faulty wiring.
- Upgrade and install new electrical service panels and sub-panels.
- Perform electrical installations for new construction, remodels, and home additions.
- Install and service smart home technology, low-voltage systems, and home automation components.
- Conduct thorough electrical inspections to ensure systems are up to code and identify potential hazards.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with homeowners to explain the scope of work, provide recommendations, and answer questions.
- Maintain regular and professional communication with office staff, fellow electricians, and apprentices to ensure smooth project coordination.
- Provide mentorship and on-the-job training to apprentice electricians by delegating tasks and reviewing their work to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
- Maintain the organization, cleanliness, and stock of an assigned company vehicle.
- Coordinate all vehicle upkeep, including oil changes, maintenance, and repairs. Ensure all truck expenses are communicated to the office and that repairs are pre-approved by the division manager.
- Assure any incurred parking tickets are submitted to the accounting department immediately for payment.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all local and state regulations.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety protocols.
- Provide accurate job reports and invoices in a timely manner.
Requirements:
- Massachusetts Electrical Journeyman License required
- Residential electrical experience required
- Good understanding of the current NEC code
