Responsibilities

Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and mechanical systems.
Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and building automation system diagrams to diagnose issues accurately.
Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters to identify faults within electrical components of HVAC equipment.
Manage refrigerant handling in compliance with EPA regulations; perform refrigerant charging and recovery procedures safely.
Utilize welding and mechanical repair skills for equipment fabrication or component replacement as needed.
Diagnose complex mechanical system failures and implement effective solutions promptly to minimize downtime.
Maintain detailed service records, inspection reports, and maintenance logs to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational efficiency.
Collaborate with building automation specialists to optimize system performance through advanced controls and automation technology.

Skills

Proven construction experience with mechanical systems installation and repair.
Service technician experience in HVAC/R or related fields with a focus on troubleshooting diverse equipment types.
Strong understanding of schematics, wiring diagrams, and HVAC design principles for accurate diagnostics.
Knowledge of refrigeration systems is highly desirable.
Electrical diagnostics proficiency using tools like ohmmeters; ability to interpret electrical schematics accurately.
Mechanical knowledge encompassing boiler operation, equipment repair, welding techniques, and property maintenance tasks.
Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; driver’s license with a driver endorsement preferred for field service mobility.
Experience working with HVAC/R equipment in field service environments; ability to perform appliance repair when necessary.
Mechanical mechanic experience that supports troubleshooting complex mechanical failures efficiently.
