Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welder to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing precise welding operations on various metal materials, ensuring that all work meets industry standards and safety protocols. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of construction, manufacturing, and fabrication projects, utilizing your technical knowledge and mechanical aptitude to deliver high-quality results. Duties
- Perform TIG welding on diverse metal materials, including sheet metal and structural components, adhering to blueprints and technical drawings.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols to execute accurate welds in accordance with AWS standards.
- Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math to verify dimensions and ensure precision in fabrication.
- Operate power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret technical schematics, schematics, and construction drawings to guide welding and assembly processes.
- Maintain safety protocols at all times while working on construction sites or within fabrication shops; ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly, rigging, pipe threading, ductwork installation, and metal fabrication projects as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction site environments or fabrication shops with a focus on welding operations.
- Demonstrated proficiency in TIG welding; experience with MIG (Metal Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and gas metal arc welding is highly desirable.
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and interpret mechanical blueprints accurately.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of tools such as calipers, micrometers, hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
- Familiarity with ASME codes & standards as well as AWS standards for welding quality assurance.
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication, pipe threading, ductwork installation, plasma cutting, press brake operation, and mechanical fabrication processes.
- Knowledge of construction site safety protocols including rigging practices and forklift operation when applicable.
- Excellent shop math skills along with basic math understanding necessary for precise measurements and calculations.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced manufacturing or construction environments while maintaining high safety standards.
