The Beachcomber Resort and Club is seeking job candidates for position of Hotel HVAC Technician - Hotel Maintenance Engineer. The ideal candidate will have the skills and abilities including but not limited to hotel general property maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and contribute to our team maintenance team.
Responsibilities:
- Complete working knowledge of air conditioning/heating, ventilation, kitchen refrigeration, ice machines, and kitchen equipment
- Support the Chief Engineer
- Inspect and perform equipment repairs and replacements
- Perform routine preventative maintenance
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- HVAC certification is required
- Ability to communicate and work well with others in a effective and respectful manner
- Ability to handle physical workload
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
Since the hotel business is a 24/7 operation, the ideal candidate will be able to work flexible hours and be willing to work nights (up until 11 PM), weekends and holidays and adhere to work the schedule as issued, has reasonable work experience with a verifiable job history. A background in the hospitality industry (hotel and/or restaurant facilities maintenance) is preferred but not essential. We are seeking a person who possesses solid working knowledge and skills in all aspects of HVAC repairs including but are not limited to plumbing, carpentry, painting, and basic electrical repairs as well. Being multi lingual is a plus but not required.
We are looking for an individual who is respectful and friendly and enjoys working with others as a team, will go the extra mile to take the proper and timely corrective action(s) necessary when the need arises (and perform scheduled preventive maintenance) to repair and maintain any of our guest rooms, suites, villas, kitchen & dining facilities, pool and public areas, and the property’s entire grounds while providing excellent customer service to our guests. All of the Beachcomber’s team members are expected to be able to work in a fast paced work environment, under pressure with poise, courtesy and professionalism when interacting with our valued guests, fellow employees, management, and ownership and are required to follow all hotel policies and procedures (including but not limited to what is outlined in employee manual). Reliability, flexibility, integrity, attention to detail with regards to the job as well as a being in proper uniform with name tag, having a well groomed appearance and good personal hygiene are a must.
This position does involve working indoors and outdoors (in the south Florida weather), standing for extended periods of time, and the ability to lift, push, and/or pull 50+ lbs.
