The Carpenter is responsible for successfully producing custom tradeshow exhibitry and components from supplied blueprints.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
1. Blue-Print Reading – be able to read, understand and scale from blueprints
2. Operate Machinery – Set up and operate woodworking machinery such as power saws, router, drills etc.
3. Woodworking Techniques – have knowledge of basic woodworking techniques including gluing, boring holes, use of hand tools, measuring, clamping etc
4. Laminating – Knowledge of all laminating techniques and finishing HPL laminates. Including gluing, applying and trimming
5. Electrical – basic knowledge of high and low voltage electrical lighting and components
6. Setup and Dismantle – be able to set-up and tear down tradeshow exhibits per provided assembly instructions. Travel may also be required
7. Maintenance – Maintain, inspect, clean and repair existing components
8. Fabrication – Build all new exhibit components and crates from scratch using plywood, laminate, plexiglass, aluminum and various other materials
Qualifications/Skills and Knowledge Requirements
1. 2 years Carpentry Experience
2. Carpentry/Cabinet/Exhibit Background
3. Union Apprenticeship or Equivalent .
4. If not currently in the union, must be willing to join.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $36.00 - $38.00 per hour
