Job description
For immediate start, we’re looking for an assistant industrial automotive technician to join our factory team. Ostro is part weld-shop, part sheet metal processing and move a lot of steel around using forklifts, semi-tractors and lighter duty trucks. We also use a wide variety of construction equipment, such as boom lifts, telehandlers, scissor lifts, and more. Every day is a little different.
The industrial automotive side of our maintenance team is responsible for performing ongoing maintenance and (as needed) repairs on everything that sits on wheels. You're hard working, well organized, a flexible team player, eager to learn new skills and safety-oriented. We have a REALLY fantastic maintenance team, so this is a great opportunity to learn with some truly talented mentors.
Ostro Steel Structures is a leading manufacturer and installer of metal building systems in the southeastern US and beyond. Our nearly 180,000sf production facility just outside Augusta, GA (in historic Louisville, GA) is growing quickly, and we're looking for the right people to join our fast-paced organization. We’re team-oriented and results driven.
Your New Role:
- Maintain and service various rolling equipment (diesel trucks, light duty trucks, cars, trailers, boom lifts, telehandlers, scissor lifts, etc.) under supervision of our automotive maintenance manager
- Research required replacement parts and work with purchasing team to order them
- On occasion, assist with shop maintenance and upgrades to HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing and hydraulic systems
- Ensure compliance with both Ostro internal engineering safety controls and OSHA requirements
- Other duties as needed
Your Qualifications:
- Minimum two to three (2-3) years of experience in an automotive maintenance and repair role
- Diverse experience across mechanical, hydraulic (i.e., boom lift hydraulic cylinders), and electrical systems, as well as with small motors and other industrial equipment
- Excellent communication skills a must
- Must have ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks, work efficiently with minimal supervision and be detail oriented
