Electrical Technician

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to support the assembly, installation, and troubleshooting of custom automation equipment. This role is ideal for someone who can work independently, read electrical schematics, troubleshoot electrical systems, and travel to customer sites for equipment installation and support.

Responsibilities

Assist the Electrical Supervisor with equipment assembly, installation, startup, and shipment.
Install and support equipment at customer facilities, including occasional travel.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, and layouts.
Troubleshoot and debug hardwired electrical circuits using electrical meters.
Lay out and install electrical components, including control panels, weld controllers, and associated equipment.
Update Electrical BOM (E-BOM) summaries and order non-BOM materials as needed.
Follow project schedules and customer specifications to ensure on-time project completion.
Maintain accurate production documentation and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with company quality standards, safety policies, and environmental regulations.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and participate in team meetings.

Qualifications

Technical certificate or degree in Electrical Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of electrical assembly, installation, or controls experience.
Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
Experience troubleshooting electrical systems and hardwired control circuits.
Proficient with electrical test equipment and meters.
Familiarity with electrical BOMs and material management.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Willingness to travel to customer sites for equipment installation and support.
Must provide own basic hand tools and required PPE.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb throughout the workday.
Frequently lift up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
Ability to work around moving mechanical equipment and electrical systems while following all safety procedures.
