Responsibilities

Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and mechanical systems.
Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to diagnose issues accurately.
Perform electrical diagnostics utilizing tools such as ohmmeters and troubleshoot electrical systems within HVAC/R equipment.
Conduct routine preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical components to ensure optimal system performance.
Repair or replace components such as compressors, fans, valves, motors, and control systems using hand tools or welding techniques.
Assist with the installation of HVAC system upgrades or new equipment following HVAC design specifications.
Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly about system issues and solutions while maintaining professionalism on-site.
Ensure compliance with EPA regulations for refrigerant handling and other environmental standards.
Operate building automation systems to optimize energy efficiency and system control.
Maintain detailed records of service activities, repairs performed, parts used, and system diagnostics for future reference.

Experience

Proven construction experience with mechanical systems repair and property maintenance is highly desirable.
Service technician experience working with HVAC systems in commercial or residential settings.
Familiarity with schematics, wiring diagrams, HVAC design principles, and refrigeration technology.
Hands-on experience with electrical diagnostics using tools like ohmmeters; troubleshooting electrical issues within HVAC/R systems.
Mechanical knowledge related to plumbing, welding, boiler operation, ammonia refrigeration (preferred), and appliance repair.
Experience installing or maintaining HVAC system components including ductwork, air conditioning units, boilers, or building automation controls.
Strong customer service skills combined with field service experience in diverse environments.
Valid driver’s license (including driver if applicable) with a clean driving record for safe transportation between job sites.
