Commercial HVAC Service Technician Position Overview

Dynamic Sheet Metal is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician to join our growing team. This position focuses on diagnosing, servicing, and repairing commercial and residential HVAC systems, with an emphasis on VRF/VRV and ductless mini-split equipment. The ideal candidate is a skilled troubleshooter who enjoys identifying complex system issues and providing reliable solutions in the field.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, repair, and service commercial and residential HVAC equipment, including VRF/VRV, mini-split, and conventional HVAC systems.
Perform installations and equipment replacements when required.
Troubleshoot refrigeration circuits, communication networks, control systems, branch controllers, electrical components, and refrigerant-related issues.
Read and interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and manufacturer service documentation.
Utilize manufacturer diagnostic software and service tools to identify faults and verify system performance.
Perform equipment startups, commissioning, operational testing, and system verification.
Complete accurate service documentation, including diagnostic findings, repairs performed, and recommended solutions using ServiceTitan on a company-issued tablet.
Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment condition, repair recommendations, and system operation.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following company procedures and industry best practices.

Our technicians work on a wide variety of equipment, including Mitsubishi City Multi, Daikin VRV/VRF, ductless mini-split systems, and traditional commercial HVAC equipment. We are looking for technicians with strong diagnostic abilities who are committed to delivering high-quality service and building long-term customer relationships.

Qualifications

Minimum of four years of commercial HVAC service experience.
Current EPA Section 608 Certification.
Valid New York State driver's license with a clean driving record.
Strong understanding of electrical troubleshooting, controls, and refrigeration systems.
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical service literature.
Experience servicing or installing Mitsubishi City Multi, Daikin VRV/VRF, or similar VRF systems is highly preferred.
G60 and F60
OSHA 30 and NYC SST certifications are preferred but not required.
