Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Light Commercial HVAC/R Service Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining a wide range of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical systems in commercial settings. Your expertise will ensure optimal system performance, energy efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop your skills and experience in both technical work as well as commercial installation project management.
Note: This is a hybrid position in which you will be performing technician repairs as well as running new construction light commercial projects under a project manager.
Prefferred qualifications:
- 2+ years of light commercial technician experience
- 2+ years of light commercial installation exxperience
- Technical aptitude

- The ideal candidate will feel comfortable both performing service and repair calls, as well as spearheading commercial installation projects.
Responsibilities
- Perform installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of HVAC/R systems including air conditioning units, refrigeration equipment, boilers, and building automation systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, electrical diagrams, mechanical drawings, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics and use hand tools such as ohmmeters to identify faults in electrical systems.
- Repair or replace mechanical components such as compressors, fans, motors, valves, and thermostats to restore system functionality.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete reports on repairs performed, and document system conditions for future reference.
- Ensure compliance with EPA regulations related to refrigerant handling and environmental safety standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs clearly and maintaining professional communication with clients.
Skills
- Proven experience as a service technician in HVAC/R or related construction fields with a strong mechanical background.
- Knowledge of HVAC system repair, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to read schematics and electrical diagrams accurately; familiarity with HVAC design principles is a plus.
- Mechanical knowledge of refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration is advantageous.
- Skilled in using hand tools and diagnostic equipment such as ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting.
- Experience working with building automation systems (BAS) and electrical systems within commercial buildings.
- Strong customer service skills combined with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; certification in EPA refrigerant handling is required.
- Construction experience is preferred to facilitate installation projects; plumbing knowledge is a plus for system integration tasks.
- Ability to perform HVAC system maintenance on various mechanical systems including boilers and air conditioning units effectively.

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
