Job Summary HVAC Contractor
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to join our team and deliver exceptional climate control solutions across commercial and residential properties. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance, energy efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities
- Install new HVAC systems including equipment such as boilers, air conditioning units, refrigeration systems, and ventilation components in accordance with schematics and HVAC design specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment to maximize efficiency and longevity, including cleaning, calibrating, and replacing parts as needed.
- Diagnose electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and electrical diagnostics equipment; troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical system problems swiftly.
- Repair or replace faulty components in HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/ Refrigeration) systems while adhering to safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.
- Conduct system inspections using schematics and building automation systems to identify potential issues before they escalate; perform equipment troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Assist with plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems such as refrigerant lines or condensate drainage; support electrical system repairs when necessary.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports; communicate effectively with clients regarding system status and recommended solutions.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction or property maintenance with a focus on HVAC system installation and repair.
- Service technician experience working on mechanical systems including boilers, refrigeration units, air conditioning, ventilation, and electrical diagnostics.
- Strong knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, building automation systems, electrical systems, and plumbing related to HVAC/R applications.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, welding equipment, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools required for equipment repair.
- Mechanical knowledge necessary for repairing complex mechanical systems; experience with equipment troubleshooting is essential.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate a driver vehicle if applicable.
- Certifications such as EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) certification for refrigerant handling are required; additional certifications in ammonia refrigeration or welding are a plus.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in field service environments; excellent customer service skills are vital for client interactions.
