Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Residential HVAC Service Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in residential settings. Your expertise will ensure our customers enjoy reliable comfort while you develop your skills across various mechanical systems. This position offers opportunities for growth through cross-training in related trades and technical specialties.
Duties
- Diagnose and troubleshoot residential HVAC systems using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters
- Perform repairs and maintenance on air conditioning units, furnaces, boilers, refrigeration systems—including ammonia refrigeration—and related mechanical equipment
- Conduct plumbing and appliance repairs as needed to support HVAC system functionality
- Use welding and mechanical knowledge to repair or modify equipment; perform field service tasks efficiently on-site
- Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document all work performed accurately
- Assist with property maintenance tasks related to HVAC systems to ensure safety and compliance
Skills
- Proven experience as a service technician with a strong background in HVAC repair and maintenance
- Knowledge of construction principles relevant to residential installations and repairs
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and HVAC design plans
- Mechanical knowledge covering refrigeration, plumbing, boiler operation, and appliance repair
- Skilled in using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters; familiar with equipment repair techniques including welding
- Experience with field service operations across diverse property types; valid driver’s license with a clean driving record ( driver)
- Familiarity with ammonia refrigeration systems and HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/ Refrigeration) certifications preferred
- Strong understanding of property maintenance standards; ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
