About the Role
Crystal Clear Aquarium Service maintains live seafood systems for major supermarket chains throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
This is a unique position combining aquarium system maintenance, plumbing, electrical troubleshooting, pump replacement, filtration systems, and commercial refrigeration service. Work is performed inside supermarket seafood departments. Technicians perform preventive maintenance, service calls, equipment repairs, and refrigeration projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, with the majority of work concentrated in Maryland, Washington DC, and Northern Virginia.
Responsibilities Include
- Commercial refrigeration diagnostics and service
- Leak detection, evacuation, charging, and startup procedures
- Equipment replacement and system rebuild projects
- Service documentation and customer communication
- Water testing and aquarium system maintenance
- Pump, filter, UV, and equipment replacement
- Electrical troubleshooting and control diagnostics
- Plumbing and piping repairs
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of HVAC-R experience preferred
- EPA Certification required (or ability to obtain quickly)
- Ability to perform refrigeration diagnostics, leak repairs, component replacement, evacuation, charging, and electrical troubleshooting
- Own hand tools, cordless drill, and refrigeration gauges
- Valid driver's license
- Able to regularly service locations throughout the DC and Baltimore markets
- Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
- Professional and customer-focused
- Candidates located in the Laurel, Jessup, Columbia, Elkridge, Hanover, or surrounding areas are strongly preferred
This position requires the ability to:
- Drive for extended periods of time between customer locations
- Lift and carry equipment and materials weighing 50 pounds or more
- Frequently kneel, crouch, bend, and work in confined spaces around equipment
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Push, pull, and maneuver equipment as needed
- Work in a variety of indoor supermarket environments
- Occasionally climb ladders and work from step stools when servicing equipment
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
