Schedule: Mon-Fri 6:00 am – 2:30 pm
Must be flexible and available to work overtime as needed, in accordance with company policies, to accommodate customer schedules that may extend beyond the standard end time.
Dress Code: Steal Toe shoes, safety glasses, Jeans and T-shirt - must be in good condition no holes.
Job Details:
The role involves electrical assembly and testing for engineer-to-order products, requiring the ability to interpret unique engineering and wiring drawings. Responsibilities include mechanical and electrical assembly, component troubleshooting, and testing large, complex products, such as switch racks, which can measure up to 40 feet in length and 14 feet in height. The candidate must be proficient in mechanical assembly and the use of cranes for lifting.
What you’ll do:
- Assemble, wire, and test electrical components such as relays, switches, transformers, circuit breakers, terminal blocks, etc. while upholding safety requirements
- Install completed assemblies into cabinets and enclosures as required
- Accurately layout and position assembly components to ensure construction feasibility and ease of installation and future maintenance.
- Participate in switch rack construction: including bus fabrication and assembly, enclosure construction, component layout and mounting to frame. Installation, measurement, fabrication, and installation of conduit and associated fittings, and wiring of complete assembly.
- Complete Eaton’s Qualified Electrical Worker training and functional test the aforementioned products as required. Efficiently troubleshoot any product quality challenges identified during testing.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement/cost savings for operations and/or the facility
- Analyze job requirements from blueprints and schematics. Note discrepancies and make necessary adjustments to switch rack and drawings. Advise Manufacturing Engineer of corrections.
- Crosstrain as needed to develop additional skills sets to flex as needed with demand
- Responsible for maintaining work area and general shop area in a clean and orderly condition
- Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisory or management personnel.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required.
- At least 2 years of experience in complex electrical assembly and testing with Electrician Certification (Journeyman or Master Electrician), an associate degree or technical certification in a related electrical field, military electrical training, or equivalent combination of education and experience required (TDLR Licensed 3rd-year apprentice with heavy industrial assembly history)
- 3 years of electro-mechanical (piping, conduits, threading) assembly experience required.
- Ability to work overtime.
- Candidates will need to be CPR/AED/First Aide Certified prior to start.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience building explosion proof and/or power-distribution products preferred.
Skills:

- Strong mechanical/technical aptitude; knowledge of principles of mechanics, characteristics of materials, fundamentals of electricity and wiring of ordinary circuits.
- Ability to setup and operate hand, pneumatic and power tools.
- Use of a variety of fixed and adjustable gauges and electrical testing equipment to prove out wiring and mechanical functions of unit and to ensure quality.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and other technical drawings
- Self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision

Physical Requirements:
- Able to stand on feet continuously during working shift.
- Able to lift and bend on a continuous basis
- Able to regularly lift 30-50 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to distinguish colored wiring
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment as required by company policy and procedure
