Pipefitter – Fabrication Shop
Pay: $25.00-$35.00/hour (Based on Experience)
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Pipefitter to join a fabrication shop team. This position is responsible for assembling, fitting, and fabricating piping systems in a controlled shop environment to support commercial and industrial construction projects. The ideal candidate will be able to interpret blueprints and isometric drawings, perform pipe layout and fit-up, and work closely with welders and fabricators to produce high-quality piping assemblies while maintaining a safe work environment.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and piping specifications.
- Measure, verify, and prepare pipe cut lengths according to drawings.
- Perform pipe layout, fitting, and assembly in the fabrication shop.
- Position and secure piping components for welding.
- Inspect fabricated assemblies for accuracy and quality.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, cutting equipment, and pipe fabrication machinery.
- Assist with material handling, loading/unloading, and shop organization.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all OSHA and company safety policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of pipefitting experience in a fabrication shop or construction environment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and specifications.
- Experience working with carbon steel and stainless-steel piping.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in pipe layout, measuring, and fitting techniques.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve fabrication issues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Must be able to successfully pass a MIG Positioner Rollout Certification on a 2" Schedule 80 weld test.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Trade school or vocational training preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work safely in a fabrication shop environment.
Requirements
- OSHA 10 certification preferred.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Must successfully complete a MIG Positioner Rollout Certification on a 2" Schedule 80 weld test as part of the hiring process.
Interview Process
- Initial Teams interview may be available.
- Final interview is conducted in person and includes the required weld certification test.
