Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry Level Welder Fabricator to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in metal fabrication, welding, and assembly processes, contributing to the creation of high-quality metal structures and components. Responsibilities
- Assist with cutting, shaping, and assembling metal materials using hand tools and power tools such as press brake machines and plasma cutters
- Perform welding operations including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) following AWS (American Welding Society) standards
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and mechanical blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly of components
- Measure materials precisely using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to meet project specifications
- Support fabrication shop activities by handling sheet metal fabrication, ductwork, pipe threading, rigging, and assembly tasks
- Maintain safety protocols at all times by adhering to construction site safety standards and proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
- Assist with the operation of machinery such as press brakes, plasma cutters, and machining tools to produce accurate parts
Experience
- Construction site experience or background in mechanical fabrication is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Familiarity with measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and shop math is advantageous
- Basic understanding of blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings is beneficial
- Hands-on experience with welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, and SMAW is a plus but not required—training will be available
- Knowledge of safety procedures on construction or fabrication sites is highly valued
- Mechanical knowledge related to metal materials, sheet metal fabrication, ductwork, pipe threading, and rigging will support your success in this role
