Industrial Maintenance & Operations Specialist
Bureau Veritas is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance & Operations Assessor with Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) experience to evaluate industrial equipment, facility systems, and operational performance at client sites across the U.S.
This is a hands-on field role for an experienced industrial electrical, mechanical, controls, maintenance, or material handling professional. A strong understanding of NFPA 70E and experience working as a Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) are highly valued, particularly for candidates with experience gathering electrical and arc flash data in industrial environments.
You’ll assess equipment condition, performance, safety, maintenance practices, and compliance; gather electrical and arc flash data; review maintenance and asset records; and translate field observations into clear technical findings and recommendations.
What You’ll Do
- Perform onsite assessments and technical audits of industrial equipment, MHE, electrical, mechanical, controls, and facility systems
- Conduct electrical data collection and arc flash information gathering
- Evaluate electrical equipment and infrastructure up to 480V, applying safe work practices consistent with NFPA 70E and QEW requirements
- Evaluate equipment condition, operation, reliability, maintenance needs, deficiencies, and risks
- Assess material handling and conveyance systems against drawings, specifications, operational requirements, and industry standards
- Review CMMS records, maintenance history, work orders, BAS controls, asset documentation, and preventive maintenance programs
- Interpret electrical, mechanical, and architectural drawings and technical documentation
- Interview facility personnel, contractors, vendors, and clients to validate findings and understand operational conditions
- Document field observations using photographs, electronic data collection tools, and detailed technical reports
- Communicate findings, risks, corrective actions, and recommendations to clients and project teams
What You Bring
- Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) experience with a strong working knowledge of NFPA 70E and OSHA electrical safety requirements
- Experience working around energized electrical equipment and following arc flash PPE and electrical safety procedures
- Experience with electrical systems and equipment up to 480V
- Experience with Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) involving multiple energy sources
- 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, electrical, mechanical, controls, material handling, facilities operations, or a related environment preferred
- High school diploma/GED required; technical, vocational, trade, or associate degree preferred
- Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, or evaluating material handling equipment preferred
- CMMS experience for asset management, maintenance records, and work orders preferred
- Journeyman electrical or mechanical credentials preferred
- OSHA 10/30 or industry certifications such as CxA, BCxP, CEM, NICET, or NFPA-related credentials are a plus
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record required
- Strong technical writing, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in industrial environments and interact professionally with clients and site personnel
The Reality of the Role
This is a field-intensive position with approximately 75% travel to client sites across the U.S. Travel may include air and ground transportation, and project schedules may require occasional night or weekend work.
You should be comfortable working around industrial equipment, mechanical systems, energized electrical components, ladders, elevated areas, and varying environmental conditions.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
