Most electrical companies send a technician to do exactly what the homeowner asked for, hand them a bill, and leave. We don't work that way.
Our technicians walk a home, find the things a homeowner should know about, and present real options — good, better, best — so the customer gets to choose. That means this job is roughly 70% electrical work and 30% talking to people about their home and what it needs.
If presenting a $6,000 panel upgrade to a homeowner makes you want to disappear into the attic, this is not your job, and we'd rather you know that now. If you've ever thought "I could sell this better than the guy who's supposed to be selling it" — keep reading.
What you'll actually do:
- Run residential service calls: troubleshooting, repairs, panel and service upgrades, generators, EV chargers, whole-home surge, lighting, fans, safety inspections
- Walk the home on every call and build an options-based estimate on site
- Present the estimate to the homeowner yourself, answer objections, and close the work
- Document the job the same day — photos, notes, materials, time — in Housecall Pro
- Keep the truck stocked, clean, and inspection-ready
- Follow up on estimates that don't close on the first visit
What you'll be measured on:
We'll tell you your numbers on day one and review them with you every week. No mystery:
- Average ticket
- Estimate close rate
- Jobs completed per day
- Callback / warranty rate
- Same-day documentation compliance
- Customer reviews earned
Requirements:
- 3+ years residential electrical service experience (service calls, not new-construction rough-in only)
- Working knowledge of the current NEC and Florida residential code
- Valid Florida driver's license and an insurable driving record
- Comfortable using a phone/tablet for estimating, invoicing, and job documentation
- Able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen
- Able to lift 50 lbs, work in attics and crawlspaces, and handle Florida summers
Nice to have: generator or EV charger installation experience, prior flat-rate or options-based selling, service agreement/membership sales.
What we offer:
- $25-$35 including performance bonus on work you sell and complete
- Company vehicle & gas card
- Paid time off and holidays
- Weekly one-on-ones and a written standard for advancement — including a defined path toward lead tech and beyond
- A company small enough that the owner knows your name and big enough to keep your truck full
