Join our dynamic YAMAHA DEALERSHIP team as a Marine Service Technician, where you'll play a vital role in maintaining and repairing water transportation equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. We specialize lower unit and outboard rebuilds, diagnostics, and service. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs and supporting maintenance activities across a variety of marine machinery and electrical systems. Your expertise will help keep watercraft operating efficiently and safely in diverse environments.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on marine engines, propulsion systems, electrical wiring, and mechanical components.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues using schematics, technical drawings, multimeters (ohmmeters), calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Perform repairs on marine electrical systems, including troubleshooting marine electrical faults and replacing damaged wiring or components.
- Use hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, sheet metal tools and rigging gear to assemble, disassemble, repair, or replace parts as needed.
- Interpret technical manuals and schematics to accurately identify issues and execute repair procedures efficiently.
- Maintain water transportation equipment by replacing worn parts, performing heavy lifting tasks safely with PPE and ensuring all systems meet safety standards.
- Document all maintenance activities thoroughly in compliance with operational procedures and safety protocols.

- SOME FACTORS THAT ARE PLUSSES ARE:
- Mechanical knowledge of mechanical systems repair including water transportation equipment and marine engines.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, calipers, soldering equipment, sheet metal tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics accurately for diagnostics and repairs.
- Familiarity with military standards or experience from military service is a plus for understanding rigorous maintenance protocols.
- Knowledge of electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting within complex marine electrical systems.
- Experience with maintenance, repair & operations (MRO) practices specific to marine environments.
- Capable of heavy lifting while adhering to safety standards using PPE; comfortable working in physically demanding situations.
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients regarding repairs or system status.

Pay: $14.00 - $20.00 per hour
