Overview

Duties

Install HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems according to schematics and design specifications
Conduct system troubleshooting and repairs using hand tools, electrical diagnostics, ohmmeters, and other equipment repair tools
Perform routine maintenance on HVAC/R systems to ensure optimal operation and longevity
Interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design documents to accurately install mechanical and electrical components
Diagnose issues with electrical systems, refrigeration units, plumbing connections, and mechanical systems to identify root causes
Ensure compliance with EPA regulations for refrigerant handling and other environmental standards during installation and repair processes
Provide excellent customer service by explaining system features and maintenance procedures clearly to clients

Requirements

Proven construction experience with a strong background in mechanical systems repair and property maintenance
Service technician experience with HVAC system repair, installation, and maintenance
Knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, electrical systems, plumbing, and building automation systems
Familiarity with refrigeration including ammonia refrigeration systems is highly desirable
Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues using hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, ohmmeters, and specialized diagnostic tools
Mechanical knowledge related to HVAC/R equipment repair including boilers and appliances
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating drivers preferred
EPA certification for refrigerant handling required; additional certifications in HVAC/R or electrical diagnostics are a plus
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information effectively
