Part-Time Journeyman Commercial Electrician – Trainer & Mentor
$38–$45/hour | 20–25 Hours/Week | 3–4 Weekdays | Paid Drive Time
CSL Technology Solutions is looking for an experienced commercial electrician to train, mentor, and support electrical field technicians.
This is a part-time opportunity for someone who wants to stay active in the trade without returning to a traditional full-time project schedule.
The role is expected to average 20–25 hours per week over 3–4 weekdays, primarily during daytime hours.

This may be an excellent fit for an experienced journeyman-level electrician, foreman, lead electrician, master electrician, commercial service electrician, or recently retired electrician.
- Train and mentor electrical field technicians
- Provide hands-on coaching during commercial electrical work
- Teach safe and practical work methods
- Support technician development in:
- Conduit layout and bending
- Wire pulling
- Branch circuits and feeders
- Panels and devices
- Equipment connections and controls
- Troubleshooting
- Help technicians improve job planning, preparation, quality, and efficiency
- Reinforce safe work practices, PPE, lockout/tagout, ladder and lift safety, and job hazard awareness
- Support bucket truck and elevated-work training
- Review field work for safety, quality, accuracy, and workmanship
- Help identify skill gaps and practical training needs
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on commercial electrical field experience
- Journeyman-level commercial electrical skills or equivalent senior field experience
- Strong experience with commercial panels, feeders, branch circuits, conduit, wiring, devices, equipment connections, and troubleshooting
- Ability to explain electrical work clearly to less-experienced technicians
- Ability to read scopes of work, drawings, panel schedules, and field documentation
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable weekday availability
- Ability to safely work in active commercial jobsite environments
7+ years of commercial electrical experience is preferred.
- Foreman, lead electrician, or crew leadership experience
- Training or mentoring of apprentices or technicians
- Commercial service and troubleshooting
- Bucket truck, boom lift, or scissor lift experience
- OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, lift training, or similar advanced safety training
Formal instructor experience is not required.
This is a field-based training position. Candidates must be able to safely work in commercial environments that may include:
- Indoor and outdoor job sites
- Ladders, lifts, bucket trucks, and elevated work areas
- Electrical and mechanical rooms
- Warehouses, rooftops, and active construction environments
- Standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, and moving tools or materials as reasonably required
Pay: $38–$45/hour, based on documented experience
Schedule: Approximately 20–25 hours per week, normally over 3–4 weekdays
Paid Drive Time: Approved company and field-training travel is paid.
This is a part-time position and is therefore NOT currently eligible for CSL's full-time employee benefit package.
